I was asked this question and here is my answer:
The words “productive”, “spend” and “free” are all therefore really interesting.
I would invite some reflection on these.
For example, how can we “spend” something that is “free”?
And what is ultimately productive? Productivity doesn’t exist in a vacuum – it is surely dependent on what you want to accomplish. Productivity also often has a future focus rather than a present focus. It is often about building for the future rather than truly embracing the moment.
How we think about time itself is highly cultural. There is so much to say on this. If you want to explore this some more, this may offer some different perspectives: How Do I See Time?
